China has always supported and will continue to participate in science-based origins study. “What we firmly oppose is politicization of origins tracing,” said the Chinese Foreign Ministry on August 18.
Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson from the ministry, made the remarks on the Foreign Ministry’s Regular Press Conference.
China has twice invited the World Health Organization (WHO) for joint research, which produced scientific and authoritative conclusions and laid the foundation for the next-phase global origins tracing work, said Zhao.
However, what the U.S. cared about is not facts and truth, but how to malign China, said the spokesperson.
Zhao said that the U.S. should invite the WHO to carry out origins tracing in the U.S. if it has nothing to hide, which is the sincerity and attitude a country who really cares about global origins tracing is supposed to show.
